PTSD TREATMENT - We provide Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a psychotherapy that enables you to heal from the symptoms of emotional distress resulting from disturbing or traumatic life experiences.
What happens in an EMDR session? Your EMDR therapist uses directed back and forth eye movement, tapping, or sounds, to non-intrusively help you activate your brain's natural processor and effectively decrease or remove negative emotions from your disturbing memories. This process also helps you to decrease negative beliefs about yourself, increase positive beliefs, and reduce physiological arousal such as panic attacks, flashbacks, and nightmares.
Your brain does all the work. Unlike other trauma focused therapies, EMDR therapy does not require detailed descriptions of the traumatic event, direct challenging of beliefs, extended exposure to the disturbing memories, or homework.
Length of Treatment. Most traumas can be fully processed in three to four ninety-minute EMDR sessions.

Neuropsychology is the study of how your brain works and how it impacts your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. All of the strategies and skills in “Creating A Life I Love!” are based on basic principles of neuropsychology.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a cognitive-behavioral therapeutic approach that uses a of acceptance and problem-solving strategies with an emphasis on dialectical processes. DBT is designed to help you increase your awareness , access your own inner wisdom, analyze your interfering behavior, create a way of being you've always wanted, restructure your thoughts, regulate your emotions, reduce or eliminate interfering behaviors while reinforcing desired behaviors, radically accept yourself, others, and the world, and effectively respond to stress. DBT is recommended by the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices and has become one of the most effective evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, suicide prevention, eating disorders, and addictions.
Narrative therapy is a postmodern therapeutic approach that explores a person’s stories about life and how interpretations of life experiences serve to reinforce fixed ways of being. Cognitive restructuring strategies are used to intentionally create life stories that free us from the constraints of rigid interpretations and inspire us to create and live lives we love. Narrative therapy has been clinically shown to increase the quality of relationships, increase confidence in conducting life, and increase personal productivity and joy.

What happens in a Creating A Life I Love! session? First, your therapist will assess and treat any trauma that needs further processing. Next, your therapist will work with you to identify specific behaviors that interfere most with loving your life and help you complete an interfering behavior analysis. You will then create a way of being that powerfully inspires, moves, motivates, satisfies, and excites you to your very core. Next you will complete a created behavioral analysis which will provide a script for you to practice effective thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that match your created way of being. Finally, your therapist will take you step by step through the entire Creating A Life I Love! eight step process that fully equips you to continue to create a life you love the rest of your life.
Suggested Length of Treatment. A significant decrease or elimination of interfering behaviors, replaced by a created way of being with effective thoughts, emotions, and behaviors can be achieved in four to eight, fifty minute sessions.
